Hello everyone I started removing the interior today. I am impressed with the condition of the floor pans. Thought I would put some chassy saver down before I installed the carpet what are your thoughts?

Try to clean up any surface rust first with a wire brush. Then coat it well.
POR 15 is another good product. It actually bonds to & chemically changes the surface rust. If you use it only use a wire brush to dislodge the really loose stuff. You do not want to remove the rust, it won't bond to clean metal. It's kinda pricey but works great. One thing to remember, typically many of these type products come in metal paint cans & can be brushed on or thinned and sprayed. If there is product left over, place a piece of a plastic store bag or saran wrap over the top of the can, before reseating the lid. This will make it easy to open next time & keep it from drying out.
Good luck,
Keith

Thanks Fellas I going to try to get after it on Sunday
Hey Everyone I cleaned up the floor and found some weak spots under the back seat. Should I cut it out or just put some resin over the pin holes? I guess my thoughts were it would be difficult to try to form the steel properly, Also keep in mind this will be a summer driver for my wife not a show car. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
If it is a big enough spot to need cut on then I would weld in the appropriate patch (but then I do my own welding).

If the area in question is just pin holes then I would carefully sand blast or wire brush the area and use a sealer as a temporary fix for replacement at another time. If it is cleaned and sealed properly then it will stop the continuation of the issue until it can be permanently remedied.
