Hey Guys,
I've had no end of issues with my original Mach 1 tacho since I installed a Mallory electronic ignition system - not compatable.
The old Ford tachos take their signal from the + side of the coil, and of course, all electronic ignitions systems take their power from the - side of the coil.
I've even tried fitting a MSD 8920 box with no success.
I contacted Bob McMullen [Rktmn@RCCInnovations.com] over there in the States - he converts old school tachos and fits them with electronic innards. Needless to say, I now have a dead accurate tacho.
Bob even fitted a white face for me, so it matches the rest of my gauges. It looks like the original, except it works.
I see lots of posts about the issue - so, if you're in the same boat, Bob has the answer.
