I have been deep into a restoration project for my son and never expected to have over 20 Grand into a coupe and still not have the paint job finished yet.

Here is the pig in all its glory;Eusa_dance

The paint supplies alone were Three Grand ($3000.00), I thought I was going to faint at the register. It was 4 boxes worth of crap.

Wow, that is a lot of $'s. Looks like you doing a great job, I'm sure you son is thrilled.
Yes, hard to see the investment right now BUT just wait till the paint has landed! It will be worth it.

Has your son been able to do a lot of the work with you?

My son Byron is now 16 and has done alot as I only sit in the garage and show him once or twice and hand it to him and have him do the brunt of it.

It is quite the learning curve but he now realizes the magnitude of a project such as this.
Tomorrow we will head back down to Bill and Marie's house where the body shop is located (this is Bill with the beard and his wife Marie the Artist) and we will install all the Hush Mat material in the new door panels and roof area so that the door guts can be installed when the paint is dried.
Thier company "Air Effects" usually specializes in custom Harley bikes custom paint jobs, but from time to time they do hot rods.

The PPG (Ditzler Deltron) will look amazing with some Black custom stripes down the top of the car. The red color my son picked out is the bright red that Ford 2013 trucks are....the bright red laquer non metalic red.
Looks like you got all the right stuff. Hope it comes out great. Now comes the prep work. (I Hate The Prep Work) but done correctly it makes a world of difference. Good Luck. JTS 71 Mach1
PLEASE POST AFTER PAINTED PICTURES. LOOKS LIKE MONEY WELL SPENT!! YOU HAVE ALSO TAUGHT HIM ONE OF THE MOST VALUABLE LESSONS IN LIFE OF WORKING HARD TO ACHIEVE A GOAL. HE WILL APPRECIATE THAT CAR SO MUCH MORE DOING THE WORK HIMSELF. I WAS ABLE TO DO THAT WITH MY FIRST CAR WITH MY DAD AND I STILL OWN AND LOVE THAT CAR TODAY Biggrin
Progress Report?
I just got back from Texas today and havent seen the car yet this week.
Plus its going to be some blizzard tonight so I will have to wait till thursday to see the car and take more photos.Eusa_dance
