Hello Everyone

I am a new member of the site, and this is my first post other than the New Member Post.

I own a 1973 Mach 1, and am currently underway with my version of a restoration. I am trying to figure out what wheels I should go with. I like the Mag 5's, however, I wanted to see what you guys and gals would suggest.

When I bought the car a month ago it had a 90's style wheel, and I do not like them at all. You can see one of the wheels laying in this photo. I disliked them so much that I had my brother switch them out while we are working on it. HA.

Let me know your thoughts. :)
Thanks...Raven

Magnum 500's are my choice. Or you could go with some Torque Thrust II's, depends what you like and what direction your heading with the car with regard to restoration.
Heres my 72 Mach1 sold it and I sure miss it!

Welcome,

Great to have you here with us.

I have to agree, even plain rims have to be better than that style of rim.

Magnum 500 are a great choice. Very popular and I doubt that they could ever be over used.

Torque Thrust are also sharp. I also like the factory dog dish with trim ring.

Mine currently runs a 67 Shelby ten spoke.

You can always add suggestions and take a poll but in the end make it yours.

Be careful working under those cars without some type of block. Sadly, I speak from experience and it hurts.

I have just finished getting my 73 back together just waiting on the stripes to be put on. I had the standard 14inch wheels with trim rims and the ford hub caps (looked ok ) but I went for the magnum 500 15inch running bf Goodrich 245 up front and 275 on the rear looks so much better and fills out those big back guards

Thanks to everyone for the input this really helps me. Expecially the pictures. :)

I too love the Mag 500's and would love to put those back on it. I also Like the Torque Thrusts as well.

My Guy was the one in the wheel housing and we told him not to do that, and hopefully next time he will listen.

Have a great day everyone!

The optional wheels in 1973 were changed from the Magnum 500's to Aluminum wheels and were 73 only style. I don't think they are reproduced like the 500's but you can find some nice used ones on occasion. Here are a few pics of them on my 73 convertible.
