Nice find on the article. I enjoyed it
I would think anyone writting an article for a publication as large and professional as Hemmings. Would have the knowledge or do the correct/ample research. Case in point the statement. About the Cruise O Matic being known internally as a C4. Which we all know was actually the FMX, and the C4 is a completely different transmission all together. I realize everyone makes mistakes, but when writting an article for such a prominent magazine, shouldn't you be held to a higher standard???
Was it just the FMX that was known as a Cruise-o-Matic? I was always under the impression that all of Ford's automatic transmissions available in the Mustang were known collectively as "Cruise-o-Matics".
If not, what were the "names" of the C-6 and the C-4?
The window sticker on my 71 429 (C6 equipped) calls it a "Select-Shift Cruise-O-Matic".
