My daily driver is a 69 Cougar. In cold weather, I pump the gas pedal about 15-20 times. Then when it starts it takes about two minutes for it to settle down and idle. Then I go inside & let it warm-up for 5 to 10 minutes. (I do have an old pick-up if the roads aren't clear). Last Thursday I decided to take my 72 Mach 1 to a Dr. appt., it lives in the garage so I figured "no problem". It started right up, and away I went. My mechanic warned me that, with it's open air cleaner & functional ram-air, it's not a good cold weather car (it was 27 degrees out). Man was he right, it died 5 or 6 times before I got out of town. Once I got it on the highway, it settled down and ran good. I think it'll hibernate until mid-March or so. Oh well, live & learn.

And to think we used to drive these cars everyday! There's a lot to be said for computer controled fuel injection, and electronic ignition. I can remember many a day it took a couple hours to get your car started before you could go anywhere. This was on the coldest days, about 15 to 20 degrees below zero, when I lived just south of Chicago.

Born & raised in Eureka (where Ronald Reagan went to college) I'm still here. And I'm a typical small town boy (if 50 can be called a boy).
My beatiful wife came from the big city (Peoria)Lol. By the way I'm not kidding when I say my wife's a beauty, she was (is) way outa my league. 23_30_106
Nice, Pretty Lady I can see why your proud of her. But there must be something about you that makes it worth staying for! So don't count yourself short. Also beauty is on the outside, but True Beauty comes from within. I can speak about this as I have been married to the same beautiful woman for 30 years now, and I still thank God for her everyday. Take care of our women and they will take care of us! JTS 71 Mach1

Spent a few years in Peoria as well. It was quite cold at times.
I had a 1st wife who was mean as a snake and unfaithful to boot. My wife (now) & I have been married 16 years. She sat at my bedside everyday when I was in the Hosptial with Cancer. All I can say is we both have a good sense of humor and we comunnicate well. Not to mention we are faithful in the honesty sense & the religous sense. I've very blessed as well as thankful. You're very right about true beauty being on the inside.
