Thank you! Last night -- snow, thunder, temps in the low teens, winds gusting to 45mph and 4 hour power outage.
Sounds like fun!!! I lived in Illinois for the blizzards of 1977 & 1979. I remember 44 honest degrees below zero, with wind chills of 77 below, and 28 foot deep snow drifts. These occured on I 57 at the over passes. They plowed the Interstate open and piled the snow along the sides. At night the wind would pick up and blow it back shut, this went on for about a week. By the time it was over they had 28 foot deep snow drifts. JTS 71 Mach1
Well these storms are pretty normal for us up here , but we had such a nice warm start this yr , no snow , above avg temps and I didn't have to blow any snow , Ya Hoo. But we got hit yesterday and all last nite, about 2 ft of snow , high winds and no power. Was up 5 am getting generator out of garage for the furnace , some lights and the most important thing COFFEE ! I will spend the next 2 days blowing snow after it quits blowing snow .
It's hard to realize that back in the day our cars were everyday drivers,I have picture of my dad chaining up moms new 64,
Mt. Shasta is getting about 36 inch tonight and I-5 is closed going into Calif.
THATS FUNNY YOU SAY THAT ABOUT DRIVING THEM THROUGH THIS STUFF. SOMEWHERE I HAVE A PICTURE OF MY MOM WITH HER BRAND NEW 65 FAIRLANE SPORT COUPE OUT IN THE SNOW. I WILL HAVE TO SEE IF I CAN FIND IT AND PUT IT ON HERE. ANYBODY ELSE GOT SOME GOOD PICTURES OF WHAT WE WOULDN'T DO WITH THESE CARS NOW? MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!
Not a very good picture but was probably Dec. 1971 I was cleaning off to go to work.
