I recently was working on my Mach 1, the grille has damage in the areas that surround the headlights. Some of the original mounting points also need repair. So I've got my Mach 1 in the garage, with the front facing the back wall. I pull the car out and back it in giving me more room to work. After moving the car I notice that a puddle of oil is forming on the floor, a BIG puddle that keeps growing. My back is hurting so I just go inside and call the local garage that rebuilt the engine. I need to have some brake work done anyway so I just had them send their wrecker to haul it to their garage. I'm imagining a rod through the block or some other disaster. When they pull the car out of my garage among the puddle of oil is the "Motorcraft" oil filter. The can portion was on the floor while the spin on ring is still on the car! Luckily no other damage occurred. The local shop got a wix heavy duty filter and all is well. I've never actually heard of this happening before. I figure no harm no foul & I get an amusing story to boot.
Relieved,
Keith
