I know that original 351cj blocks had part of the vin included on the flat pad directly under the rear of the head (I forget which side). What is the part # for a factory replacement block and would the above mentioned "pad" be blank? I've developed a curiosity regarding details in the history of the short lived Cleveland. This info. doesn't apply to my car, but I'm just interested in knowing. I'm a 30 year veteran bench racer! LOL
Thanks,
Keith
"Its behind the starter motor".
The serial date code wont allways be right on telling you if its a cj engine.
You must pull the oil pan and look.
I have a D2AE block that can be either a 4 bolt main block or it could have been made into a 2 bolt main block. "Mine is two bolt mains".
The clevelands made from 1970 are simply a Cleveland.Either in a 2V or 4V head configuration and two bolt mains only
The special Q code Cobra Jet engines supposedly all got the 4 bolt mains on the crankshaft. If you have a q-code you may have a 4 bolt main engine if its the original engine.
