I went to high school in the late 70's. There were still a few "hot" cars from the previous decade running around. Most either smoked like a chimney or had rust holes you could through a cat through. Back then after 5 or 6 years the rust worms would eat half a car. There were exceptions of course, but it was obvious that muscle cars were a dieing breed. My first car was a 289 cougar that I constantly had to work on to keep running. (I learned alto about cars working on that piece of junk. In 1978 my older brother bought a bone stock completely cherry 72 mustang sprint sportsroof. Just the addition of an intake and 4v carb. really woke that 2v Cleveland up! Two years later I bought the car from big bro. It was still nearly rust free with one small crease in the 1/4 panel. I loved that car sooo much. To this day I still occasionally have dreams about it! (I sold it when I got married). Now some 30 years later I finally bought a "72 Mach 1 and I have no intention of letting it go! Wow
Great story!
Hang on for dear life! JTS 71 Mach1
