My Father-In-Law is helping me with my restomod, but he is a Chevy guy. (sometimes you can't pick family! ;-))

We want to find a good source of info on the 1970 Mach 1 that will help with things like torque poundage and tightening patterns.

This project is taking over someone else's project that ran out of time and money to complete. I don't know what is missing since I did not take it apart myself.

I am hoping you guys can recommend a book/resource or two that will help me get the info I will need.

Finding it online is nice too, but I want to be sure the info is accurate and I put more trust in a published document versus something found online. Unless Ford itself has published something like this.

I think back to my teenage years with a VW bug and the Idiots Guide to VW's. The Idiots Guide to 1970 Mach 1 restoration would ROCK!

I don't know of an Idiots guide to the Mach1. But there are several manuals out there. My favorite is the Haynes manual for the Mustang. Then there is also a Chilton manual for the Mustang. If you look in the back of Hot Rod they usually have a page that lists several specialty publications. Such as How to restore your Mustang, Ford engine building etc. Sometimes you can go on Ebay and find these and lots of different Manuals listed, and if your careful you can get them cheaper, but watch out for the shipping. Sometimes they gouge you on the shipping to make up for the cheaper cost. Good Luck. JTS 71 Mach1

PS. Chevy lovers aren't all Bad! Especially when they are helping you on you Mach1!!!
THE FORD SHOP MANUALS FOR SPECIFIC YEARS HAS ALOT OF DETAILED PICTURES. I WAS ABLE TO PIECE TOGETHER ALL 5 FOR 69 OFF OF EBAY. I AM NOW SEEING REPRINTS AT DIFFERENT VENDORS OF THESE BOOKS. THEY HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL IN PUTTING A CAR BACK TOGETHER I TOOK APART 10 YEARS AGO.
THEY WILL HAVE YOUR TORQUE RATES ALSO.
I have the factory shop manuals for my 73 and they are very detailed with step-by-step instructions for removing and installing the components. As Black Jade said you should be able to find a set on eBay.

Here is an example of the great detail from my set:

The Ford shop manuals are also available on cd from parts stores such as California Mustang. That is handy.
When I was looking for Manuals on Ebay I never got lucky enough to find the original Ford manuals. They would definetly be the cats moew! PS. I prefer the paper manuals. JTS 71 Mach1
