My father inlaw has a birthday coming up and I was thinking making the ram air hood actually do what it was intended to.
There is no plenum installed under the hood and I'd like to get him the kit. My question is, will it fit with out modifications with the Edelbrock #2750 aluminum intake that's on there now?

Is there one kit that's better than the others, if so which one?
Probably the best answer is who the heck knows? You would have to figure out the difference in the height of the Edelbrock versus the Stock intake. It could be very little, then again it could be a couple of inches???? Do any of the kits say anything about being able to compensate for height differences? I do know they had a large rubber/ foam seal for the air cleaner housing to the hood. But not sure how much distance, it would take up if any??? Good Luck, maybe someone else can come up with a better answer??? JTS 71 Mach1
The Edelbrock #2750 is the Performer 2V intake. According to Edelbrock the front height is 3.50" and the rear height is 4.30" which gives a pad height of 3.90"

Now the question is what is the stock height? If you have access to the original intake off the car put a straight edge on the carb flange and measure the height from where the engine deck meets the manifold at the front and then again at the rear. To find pad height simply add those two numbers together and divide by 2.

Give us a shout back as to what you find out.
I have that manifold on mine and it fits with all the ram air bits.
I have a couple of original set ups and the repro one too.

Everyone makes their own kit

I use DII metal base and fiberglass plenum w/ working flappers
I include the hardware, filter, hoses, seal, breather element, even screws and a wing nut

Better just check. I looked and mine is the F-351 2V but it is apparently the same.
