I just got done installing my new intake on my mustang. I was wondering is it necessary to use the valley pan with a after market edelbrock p351 intake. Or does anyone make a gasket that doesn't require the valley pan. The motor is a 2bbl Vin h.
You can get gaskets without the valley pan. The idea of the valley pan was to reduce heat soak from the hot engine oil on the bottom of the intake. Which would in turn heat the air / fuel mixture in the intake. It's one of those ideas that probbaly didnt work as well as intended. If you have seen the Edelbrock rpm "Airgap" manifolds? Same general idea, just better execution. JTS 71 Mach1
