I've gotten a lot done since the last time I posted. I also noticed this is now a forum instead of a long thread. Nice!

Since I can't remember exactly what I posted last, here's a quick run-down with some pics. This time last year (May or so), I sawz-all'd the front end off my '71, 'blasted & repaired a 'new' front clip from a low-rust junkyard '72 FB and welded it on. Then installed a complete Super Suspension Kit from Laurel Mountain Mustang. Replaced the floor pans around Labor Day. Received the original 351C-2V back from the machine shop shortly afterward, and began the rebuild process around Thanksgiving. Learned that the Auto Hobby Shop might be closing, so I had to kick it all into high gear, and have been going every weekend since Christmas. Since then, I've rebuilt the cowl damage, completely rebuilt the trunk and tailight area, replaced the quarter panels, rebuilt the rear brakes/e-brake, and installed the engine and AOD transmission. Last weekend, I installed the headers and modified the original FMX transmission mount to accept the AOD, since the aftermarket 'adapter' bracket was in the way of the headers.

Here's some quick pics:

The 2.5" Pypes stainless exhaust goes on this weekend.
Damn, you've done a bunch! On top of that it looks like your doing a good job, while you're at it. Keep it going and real soon you'll have a Mach1! JTS 71 Mach1
Lookin' good. I love the before & after photos.
Thanks! I've got a ton more pics on my Facebook album (easiest place to upload and share). http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a...e22ae6a183

The order got jacked up somehow... probably since I have more than 200 pics there. ;)

The album 'starts' with the 2 'pretty' Mach 1 pics, and goes from there. Big Grin
Eric - thanks for the update here.

You have been a busy man! Every weekend since CHRISTmas is an amazing feat. The outcome speaks for itself - great work!

Keep us abreast of your progress, it's great motivation.
It' great to see your making some progress. Don't be a stranger here!

Thanks! I'm getting pretty close to running the wiring harness I got from you so long ago - it's been waiting patiently on a shelf in the garage since then. Just gotta get some cleaning and Rust Bullet thrown down on the interior surfaces before that happens.

OK - I got the exhaust in... for the most part. Still gotta adjust the tailpipes a little - the passenger side hangs a little lower than the driver side. But, I'll mess with it later. Fought with the U-joints but got 'em in. Then decided not to hang the drive shaft until I get the shifter mounted (next weekend).

I was going to stitch these together, but I'm wiped... it was ONLY 109 today, in the shop slightly less, but no A/C. The guys were giving me crap about laying down on the job while I was taking these pics... made my day.

Engine, tranny, and weird header angles - had to put 8 degrees of bend into each lead pipe to get it to match-up to the X-pipe inlets (then cut them to length):

X-pipe and front edge of mufflers:

And finally, the tail pipes and fuel tank. Still gotta pull the rear axle, clean it, and rebuild it... but that'll wait for another day as well.

It's sad, but looking under my car, it looks almost brand new... until you get out from under it and notice, "Oh yeah... it's THAT car."
Eric,

Sure looking good from underneath!

I like that exhaust system - looks great.
