BONUS ROUND!

The night before the car show when I was tucking the Mustang in for the night, my pal Dave took a quick video to share with his buddy Greg.

Thanks for sharing the pics.  You, Dave and John Smith look like you all could be brothers!  I also like the Pharoah Eddie shirt.
I just watched your video. Man do I remember that sound!!! Mine had 2 1/2" off the headers, 12 inch gavanized "Tractor" mufflers, (straight throughs) from TSC, and 2 1/4" pipes straight out under the rear axle. To say it was loud is an understatement. It could be heard 2 and a half miles away. Oh what a sound. Thanks for posting it, I had forgot how good that sounded!

PS all three are great rides but I'd still pick the Mach1, if I had the choice. Great car Eric.

Thanks!  Everybody kept talking about "Pharoah Eddie," but it's actually not an Iron Maiden shirt.  My wife's really into Ancient Egyptian stuff and found it for me many years ago.  I'm not unhappy everybody thought it was "Pharoah Eddie," though - I enjoyed everyone talking about it more than anything (I love that shirt).

Thanks, Man!  Frank has his original 351C-2V hopped up with lots of Edelbrock and CompCams goodies, topped off with full-length Hooker Ceramic-coated Comp Headers running into a Pypes 2.5" stainless system with X-pipe and Pypes Street Pro mufflers.  I love the sound as well - that's the only exhaust note I've ever heard from this car, since the engine was seized, with tiny-tube Blackjack headers into a straight-back dual exhaust with Cherry Bombs... and all of it was full of sand when I took it apart as well.  Poor car - seems happy enough now, though.  Wink
Yesterday, took off to WPE exhaust shop in San Angelo to get the O2 sensor bung welded in... and left the one with the E-Street kit on my phone charging stand (where I put my keys and whatnot at the end of the).  Fortunately, an O2 sensor bung is an O2 sensor bung is an O2 sensor bung... the shop had some to spare, so all is good.  Only charged me $50 to install the bung, weld up 6 U-clamp'd joints, and add some permanent hangers out back.

It was really humid yesterday (today as well - "swampy" as my pal from Phoenix mentioned), so I'll probably hold off on installing the E-Street until the weekend or sometime soon after the temps drop a bit more.  Dave's taking off tomorrow morning to head back, so we're just gonna chill and enjoy the rest of the day BSing and whatnot.
Sounds like a great way to kill a day. Cheers.

So, a couple of things in the past few weekends.  I've had tons of stuff going on, but managed to make it to a few car shows.

2 weekends ago, the Elks Lodge had a car show supporting the local VFW and other veteran charities.  Went there, won a 'Top 40' trophy (no pics, unfortunately - my camera battery died, and I was too stupid to take a pic with the cell phone).

Last weekend, there was a Toys 4 Tots Car Show at Twin Peaks restaurant, where the Mustang pulled another 'Top 40' award, this time a plaque.  I'd forgotten to charge the camera battery again, but took a quick cell phone pic, and a pal from the Concho Valley Car Council managed to get pics of all the entries... so, I swiped a few from him.

The editor of one of the local online news feeds (Joe Hyde, San Angelo LIVE!) was walking around taking pics, and I wound up sticking around for a few minutes talking with him after everybody had taken off.  He's a really cool guy and we were just BSing, but little did I know he was putting together a bit of a story.

Next thing I know, one of my FB friends linked me to the story.  Check it out: https://sanangelolive.com/news/entertain...dBspAZAcuQ

Here are a few of the pics Joe took, as well:

I'm still kicking myself for not insisting on placing the TuTone template on the hood myself, but oh well - I'll get it right next time it needs a paint job. ;)
Sounds like some great times. I like the Candy Red 69 next to your's, I'm surprised by how much larger the 71 up body really is. I had always known it was larger, but dang it.
Curious other then the fact the hood graphic is glossy, and they came more of a satin black. I don't see a problem? Maybe I'm just blind???  Confused

JTS
Eric,

Congratulations on placing in the shows.  Your car deserves the wins!  It is too bad they don't have a blood, sweat and equity trophy because you deserve that one too for all the work you did to your car!

Along with JTS, I also am confused by your hood graphic concern.  Was it placed incorrectly on the hood?  Looks good to me.
