Just picked up a 72 Mach 1 a couple of weeks back that's been parked for the last 13 years being "restored".

I've gotten it running and am now trying to sort out the electrical. In crawling around under the car I saw that there's no wiring attached to the sending unit for the fuel gauge. Then at the very back of the compartment the tank is sitting in there's a pair of chewed up wires coming out from the side of the rear drivers wheel well area in the trunk where it comes out of the main rear wiring harness.

One wire is yellow with a white stripe and the other is solid black.

Are these the wires for the sending unit? I'd hate to blow myself up because I put 12v into the interior of the tank.......

Also does it matter which wire goes to which contact on the sending unit?

Thanks!
William

Great to get verification that those are the wires I was hoping they were.

A thousand thanks!
