Hey Guys,
While I've got my motor out for a few performamce enhancements, I thought I'd redo the front end while I'm waiting for parts.

What size is the standard Mack 1 sway bar on a 73?
Mine is only 18mm in diameter - which I would of thought was a little on the small size considering the weight transfer these beauties would suffer from.

I've already upgraded the rest of the suspension in anticipation of a significant hp incresase.Eusa_dance

thanks,

This information is taken from the Mustang Restoration Guide.

I will include all 71/73's in case others are interested.

71/72 without Competition Handling were - 3/4"
with Competition Handling and 351 4V and all 429 were - 7/8"

73 without Competition Handling - 11/16"
with Competition Handling 302/351 2V - 3/4"
with Competition Handling 351 4V - 7/8"
Bravo Good answer. JTS 71 Mach1
Thanks Steven,
18mm is of course, 11/16 which is the stock sway bar. It seems I'll have to upgrade to something a little more appropriate to the Mach1's hertiage.
From what I've read on this forum, and a few others - 1" [25mm] seems to be the size of choice to upgrade to.

After I fitted a 3/4" sway bar to the rear end, it seriously improved handling while not affecting the ride quality, too badly.

I'm probably a month away from having the motor finished, when she's done - I'll give some feedback on the difference the bigger bar makes.

thanks folks.
