Have an interesting question about the center console gauges. I have a 71 MACH 1 that has the tach. and Marti Report shows this as well. However, as I was looking over the dash this weekend and taking it apart I noticed a connector behind the center console that is a square block. The current console is without ANY center gauges, but it appears my car may have had the center gauges and then someone replaced with a plain console.

Another interesting note is I recently replaced the alternator wiring and had to order the wiring that is for a car WITH gauges (knew this because the first one I ordered was without gauges and it did not fit). So it seems from the alternator and plug behind the center console that I may have a car that had the gauges.

My question is, how does one determine if the car came with this? does Marti report show in any way? Can someone show what the connector looks like that the gauges connect to? and other than EBAY where can I get the center gauge cluster, any aftermarket?

Copy of invoice would show instrumentation group option.

Is there a junction block on the battery fender apron?

If you have the tach, the square 6 pin connector and the Marti report verifies it. It should have the center gages.

Don,

Don't have a copy of the invoice but YES there is a junction block next to the battery and yes the 6 pin connector is there as well. This is a TACH car as well but the Marti report does not show anything specifically calling out the console gauges. It does state TACH on the Marti however.

Bruce, with the tach...
Plus you say the plug and wiring is there.
Plus you had to get alt / eng wiring for gau[/i]ge car
I think someone took them out.

I have never seen a factory tach without the center gauges
I have never seen a non guage car with gauge wiring.

I have the new bezels and probably have some used center gauges.
