I need info on installing rearview mirror button.Had a new windshield installed during repaint and there was no button on new windshield.could someone measure where the button is and help a friend out.I have a 1973 Mach 1.
i attached some pics and am learning how to shrink pics
A very clean and nice looking 73 Mach 1.

I am not close to my Mach 1 and do not have that measurement. Someone else will be along shortly.
Nice looking Mach 1!

On my 73 Convertible the center of the mirror button is 5 1/2 inches down from the edge of the outside windshield molding. The convertible has wider molding than the Mach's so not sure how that would translate.

Another measurement from the bottom of the Sun Shading tinting is 1 !/2 inches below the bottom of the tint to the center of the button. Mine is the original factory windshield (and mirror) and the total height of the sun shading is 4 inches.

My windshield molding has a seam dead center of the windshield and the mirror is centered under that seam.

Maybe the picture below will help too.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Rare Pony but I think your mustang has a different size windshield. Also thanks for the advise on the aliuiun wheels(about 6 months ago) but I chose not to polish mine.I didnt like the look. Ive had this car since it was new and the wheels never looked like yours.Your wheels do look good and so does your mustang.Nice sharp car.
I took these measurements the last time I was up to the U.S. and with my Mach 1. This is a replacement windshield but the button came factory installed.

The pictures turned out dark. I believe the side to button measurement was 25"
