SSig_helpI am looking to change out my carpeting in my 1970 Mach 1. My car is medium red paint (T) and the seats have a red stripe at the top. I noticed that my car came originally with color keyed carpeting. My understanding is that "color keyed carpeting" means that there were rubber inserts in the front drivers side and passenger side carpeting that should match the color of the red stripe in the seat. I would like to keep the car original and not sure if I should replace it with new standard black Fastback carpeting or new carpeting with red rubber inserts. Presently, the car has all black carpeting. I am a new owner and do not know much about what should be on the car to keep it original. Appreciate feedback from the experts who know these cars.
