Our 1970 has seat belts with the shoulder belt insert, but no shoulder harness itself. I've found where it bolts on, but was wanting to see either pics or details of how the rest of the belt is secured.

I appreciate everyone's help! SSig_help
Sorry - I am no help for you on this, but one of our 1970 owners will be along directly to give you a visual.
Not sure if this will help but here is a writeup on installing a 3 point shoulder harness. If it is the same on my 73 Mach 1 I can get you some pictures of it.

Thanks so much for posting that! I'm looking at 3 point shoulder harness as well, but would love to find to find about the originals as well!

Ok here is the scoop;
The 1970 shoulder harness belt that you refer to was attached to the overhead headliner area along the top of the door glass. It was a solid link system once you pinned yourself into it all......Basically you could not lean forward at all as it had no retracter in the shoulder belt set up.

You were basically trapped into place while you drive the car.Angry

When I was in high school I only used it when I was street racing (Dragging my friends).

I allways hated that set up and the three point shoulder belt set ups that are aftermarket are far superior to that old system.

Check out this website and you will be a believer in the new set ups.
