Full Version: Trying to find an original owner - any ideas?

My Marti report came in last week. I also ordered a reproduction of the window sticker. It shows that the cars original dealership sale went to:

Commerce Ford Sales Inc
4651 Northfield Rd
North Randall, Oh. 44128

North Randall is a suburb of Cleveland.

I then did a Mapquest search and street view. It appears that this dealership is now a furniture store. The people I purchased it from are the 3rd owners and know of the 2nd owner. However, they have not (yet) been able to give me their name(s).

Earlier, I purchased a "InstaVIN" History and Title report for the car - absolutely nothing. What do you expect for $6 ???

Was thinking about approaching the Ohio Secretary of State's office and asking if they could/would help. May run into privacy laws though.

Does anyone have any experience or ideas about how to identify an original owner?

All comments are welcome.

Thank you,

- David
Sometimes the original owners are looking for their old car, so for a long shot just post up your VIN in this thread and if someone is searching GOOGLE should link them here.

You can also try this link and list your car on the Lost Car Registry: http://the-lost-car-registrhttp://the-lost-car-registry.com/y.com/

I listed my 70 Mustang Sportsroof there a few years ago, but no luck so far! Good luck.
Mike,

Thank you for the suggestions.

I just posted it on the Lost Car Registry (link above).

Thanks again and have a nice day!
