Hey guys. Not selling the car yet but selling off some parts. I have a power disc brake setup from a 72 vert. I posted them on craigslist today hoping to sell them locally cause shipping would be outrageous. But wanted to ask you guys what you thought i should ask for them. They will need to be completely gone through cleaned, painted and built but everything is there. I have the underdash bracket, power brake pedal, booster, MC, spindles, calipers, rotors and all the hardware. I also have a set of granada disc brakes too. Pretty popular swap for all the early mustangs. Complete on the spindles. what are they worth? I listed them on CL for 500 for the mustang brakes and 250 for the granada brakes. Is this a reasonable price?
Thanks everyone Kevin

Kevin,

This is really just a stab in the dark for me as I am not current with prices on all things Mach 1, but I do not think that you are out of line for the complete setup for disc brakes nor for the spindles, hubs and calibers for the Granada swap.

Keep us posted with your success and I will be better able to help the next person who is selling or buying. Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. I have had a few calls on them but no one can come out to look at them till weekend. We will see what happens
Kevin,

I am preparing an upgrade for my 69 Mach 1 to front discs so I know a few prices which might help.

Reproduction spindles about $240 for the pair.
Reproduction calipers about $70 each
Small Parts for calipers $45 (does both)
Reproduction Boosters plus Master cylinder $200-$300.
Bolts calipers to spindles about $30
Reproduction pedals are about $60-$70

Disc and bearings not sure as I had some old ones - say $50 for the pair

SSBC complete kits are around $900-$1200 and use a lot of reproduction parts.

For the second hand mustang units I reckon you could ask easy $500 - $600. Also I am fairly sure these spindles & brakes will fit any early Mustang 64-73. I believe upper and lower ball joint tapers are the same but outer tie-rod tapers are different on later models 70-73 - easy to change outer tie-rod. Also, what you have there is also the more desirable, big-bearing spindles. They increased the spindle bearing diameters on 69 Boss and all through 70-73. These are the ones you want if doing an earlier Mustang upgrade.

Anyhow, hope this info helps
The 72 set
If you have the proportioning valve with it 250.00 Looks like it was off a car that was sitting for years.

It depends on rotor and other parts condition[s]
Did they work before you removed them?

I sell 71, 2 and 3 sets for 250.00 - 350.00

Since you can't ship your market is smaller.
Thanks Don!

Kevin, here is a man with absolute knowledge on the matter. So there you go then. It really is quite generous of Don to pony up with his help!

All the best with your sale.
thanks guys with all the info. Don the car did sit for a long time but they did work while i rolled the car on and off the trailer. I really appriciate the help. Well if no one around my area wants them, I guess i will have to keep them and put them on my 71 mach. Biggrin The granada brakes i have will fit all the 64 to 71 mustangs too and they are the larger 11 inch rotor instead of the smaller ones that came off the 6 banger granadas. The older mustangs will need the adapter for the tie rod to work or they can just change out tierod to new 70 -73 size. Well Thanks everyone for all the input, it is greatly appriciated.
Kevin
