I had 3 of those optamas in my Street rod in 5 years and if you dont keep a trickle charger on them they go bad in a year.
Wow really?!?!
Ive had a red top in my Navigator for nearly 4 years.
Yea same battery I had in the 39 but didnt drive it enough I guess.Im not knocking just stating what happened to me.When I put the trickle charger on it it lasted. And they charge different than a regular battery.I will be putting 1 in the 69.
In 1977 I bought a J C Penney lifetime battery for $55. It was a very good battery and lasted for 12 years. They have been buying me batteries ever since. For a while they sent me to Firestone to get my batteries. The last time they told me to get whatever I wanted and they would reimburse me. I got a Die Hard gold, took them the receipt and they gave me cash. $55 was a lot to pay for a battery then, but it has been worth it.
Thats what I call using your lifetime warranty. I was kicking myself recently because I threw out the Monroe shocks I replaced on my 73; I forgot I still had the receipt from the 70's and they were a lifetime warranty!

I used to have an 1980 Toyota SR5 4x4. One weekend I went 4 wheeling. My battery tie down broke and threw the battery into the fan blade, obviously gashing the battery. Anyway do you know that optima battery actually started every single day for almost 2 weeks!

I was a kid and couldn't afford a new battery and wasn't the stealing kind.

I have heard that Optima sold out and are not manufactured the same way they used to be to cut back on costs.

I'm not really endorsing the Optima Battery, this article was just to help you guys out as well as to have some conversation, I wanna know all your battery stories and opinions as that's what this site is about!
