WowI've been struggling to set the chrome hood latches. I can get them set just right, but the next time I open and shut the hood, the adjusting nut always ends up moving. Then I have to get down to the closed hood level and physically watch weather the nut needs to be adjusted up or down. I've considered using loc-tite, or adding a jamb nut, an other ideas?
Thanks,
Keith
I am not sure what comes as part of the factory set-up but a jambing nut sounds right. Loc-tite might interfere with the next time they need adjusted.

I just went through this with one of mine after I bought one of those repop hood locks and the shaft was way too long.
After burnishing the shaft down about one inch or so it was finally getting close.

The problem I was having was with the special washer that locks down the shaft and keeps it from moving when someone pops open the hood locks and attampts to open the hood.

I made adjustments to that darned washer to make it tighter and even once bent the tabs inward on that waasher to try and make it closer in tolerance and still no joy.:Cry_

Solution for me: Idea I finally figured out that i had to make a special lock nut by grinding down a regular nut to a thinner nut and along with some lock-tight I tightened the heck out of it and got it right where it neededs to be......what a pain in the keester..but finally it worked out.
Cool
