Wow I have a 72 mach 1, the marti report says it included an optional Mach 1 interior. What is the difference between mach 1 int. , and deluxe int.?
Thanks,
Keith
I am not sure. but I think a few of the deluxe interior features include wood grain door and console trim with 2 tone knit and vinyl seating and the water/oil/amp cluster gauge inset on the dash console. Do you have the warning lights for water/oil/amp next to your speedo? Like your options package. The 8 track is awesome! I have a72 Q code too, but it's an auto with am radio. The bright red color is classic on these cars. By the way, have you watched the 1970's movie The Mechanic with Charles Bronson? There is a great red Mach that shows up on occasion. Have fun!
Mach 1 sports interior = deluxe mach 1 seats and deluxe molded door panels with woodgrain trim/inserts. It doesn't include console, tach or gauges, fold-down seat, etc... those are options at extra cost. There was even a deluxe seatbelt option.
The interior you have IS the deluxe interior in the mach 1. The mach 1 sports interior could also be ordered in a standard sportsroof as a separate option. However, if your car was a standard sportsroof, it could also be ordered with a "deluxe interior" which consisted of cloth or cloth and vinyl seats - your choice. The fancy molded door panels did not come with this option. I know this is all rather confusing, but I think I've explained it the best I can. Also, Ford changed some features of these option packages between '71-'73 - further confusing matters. Obtaining a '72 mustang sales brochure might help you understand it better.
Thanks for the clarification. There is so much I don't know!
Great posting. If some one ever searches Google for this info you guys have left a trail! Goodpost
