I need to repaint / dye my front grill. Looking at it , it appears to be flat black or is it semi gloss ?
The grill trim is Argent (flat silver) on all 69's regardless of what model, even the Boss 302.

If I am wrong someone will correct me, but I think I'm right. Many people painted these because black looked better.
I checked the Mustang Club of American judging rules and they do not specify the color. Here is an excerpt for the grill and lights fro 69 and 70:

Workmanship, condition and cleanliness .......................................................................................... 5
E. Grille, Corral and Grille Opening Trim: Correct design for year ............................................ 5
Workmanship, condition and cleanliness .......................................................................................... 4

F. Headlamps and Doors: Matching, legal clear bulbs with FoMoCo and/or T/S script. Doors, proper style and finish for year. Dearborn headlamp door blacked out on backside ........................ 4
Driven Exception:
Matching halogen headlights ....................................................................................... no deduction
G. Grill Lights: Original type, mounted in original manner ........................................................... 2
I believe flat black is correct. I used a couple cleaning products and lots of elbow grease on ours. Armorall Original Protectant and Armorall Tire Foam Protectant. I used the tire foam first (it worked great on the fan shroud). Still wasn't satisfied with the grill so tried the Original Protectant took more work than the foam but had better results.

Well flat black it is , I took a chance and painted it flat black anyhow , so I made the right choice. It just made sense being the spoiler is flat black

Hopefully you took photos of the before and after so you can add them here!

I wish I could remember to take before and after pic's . I have done so much and no pic's to show my progress or end results. Some day I'll get it right.

I keep an older digital camera as one of my standard tools out in the tool box. It comes in handy for documenting progress and when working a brake job or something similar that I'm taking apart, the pictures come in handy for reassembly.
I love this digital picture age. It makes things so handy. Never thought about it as a "tool" but sounds good. Rare Pony, call Craftsman with you idea to put a camera pocket in their tool box and get paid for your smarts!
