Hi, first post. My wife had a '69 Mach 1 as her first car as a teenager growing up in Texas. She'd love to have one again as a nostalgic fun car.

I'd like to find who the knowledgeable trusted experts are to help us locate a correct car. We would buy a correct original car over a shiny new paint car anyday, unless the shiny new paint car was a 100% correct restoration.

If you know of any such people, and could pass along their contact information, we would really appreciate it. Thanks!
Welcome to the site from Virginia! It's great your wife would like another 69 Mach 1. There are a lot of knowledgeable members here that could help you out with specific questions if you find one your interested in, just post up what you find and any detailed pictures would help identifying any problems with the car your interested in. Good luck with the search and keep us posted on what you find.
Welcome Gutsilk,

Glad to have your here with us. Jump on in, you can help us and we will hope to be a help to you.

I don't know that we have any who actually hunt (buy and sell) our cars here in the club for a living but we do have a lot of passionate and informed members. There are various trustworthy, earned reputation Mustang dealers out there depending on your location.

I think that our forte will be more in the form of general and specific advice on car conditions, options, feasibility of repairs, etc. Our main resources are the normal e-bay, craigslist and local searches. This is a site that seems to have quite a few listed: http://carsonline-ads.com I hope that you and your wife are aware that the desirability of the 69 Mach 1 and consequently it's cost is high and continuing to climb.

Again, thanks for being here, all the best, and we will help all that we can.
Like Steve said good luck, cause it definetly sounds like you're looking for the proverbiel needle in the haystack. The biggest problem is no one took a 69, or for that matter any Mustang home and said I'm going to preserve this for the next 45 to 50 years till it's really worth something. We just weren't far sighted enough to believe that could happen. So 98% of us took them out and drove the wheels off of them, modified them and crashed and bashed them. Till one day we started noticing they weren't making any more. They were starting to force us into econo boxes and square ugly sedans and ugggghhhh the mini van! Then some one decided to resurect that poor old Mustang that had been sitting in the back yard for the past 10 or 15 years and thought I ought to get that thing running and have some fun with it like I used to. Thus we have the restoration craze that we've been riding for the last 20+ years. Thank God He hit his midlife crisis at the right time. Jam JTS 71 Mach1

I for one do daily nation wide searches on cars cougars and mustangs of that era.

What does she want?(shaker car, M-code, R-code or H-code?)
Tilt wheel, fold down rear seat , drag pack, etc......??

no rust, little rust, project car with little rust or dry no rust project car.....etc....
The money limits will be a factor.
Id expect a good driver car with very little to do will be found in the $12,000-$22,000 range depending on how its optioned.Wishes
