Well, it finally happened. I picked up a project car over the long weekend. Sorry, I don't yet have any pics to post. As you can imagine, I'm up to my eyeballs right now with getting a VIN inspection, getting a new title and getting the car registered. (To boot, my daily driver developed a leaky tire over the weekend.) Then I'll order a Marti report.

The driver side door was replaced with a '69 door which makes the door tag useless. However, the car still has a buck tag. I will get some pics up soon. Here are some details in the mean time:

- 1970 Mach 1
- Original 351 Cleveland 2V still under the hood
- Original 3-Speed Manual still in the car (I plan to install a 5-speed)
- Original color is Calypso Coral; Car is currently primered
- Black interior
- Rim-blow steering wheel (it's shot, but it's all there)
- Rear diff is a 9" 3.00 non-locking (bummer it's not a traction-lock, but that can easily be remedied)
- Shaker! It's actually a 1969 shaker assembly. I'm hoping I can make it look like a 1970 shaker by removing the "351" badges. The car will also need a new shaker hood. That's going to be expensive, but the current shaker hood has been the victim of a bad patch job. Anyone have a shaker hood for sale? Wink

The car runs and drives, but it's rough. It has some small spots of rust in areas typical to a 70 Mustang. The frame rails and torque boxes are solid! Once I get all the paperwork taken care of, I will start the the disassembly, get it media blasted and get some new sheet metal welded in.

Although the current condition of the car is kinda rough, what I like about it is all the pieces are still there. It hasn't been molested over the years. Even the original interior is all there.

I'll keep you posted.
Sounds like a nice find and it will keep you busy for a while. I like the Calypso Coral color. Have you thought about if your going back to original color and something else?
Oh, I will DEFINITELY go with the original Calypso Coral!
That's awesome man! Congrats!

Half the battle is finding something workable! Rockxtreme

Cant wait to see photos!
Congratulations Klutch.

I am happy for you and your find. I am looking forward to the pictures.

Looks pretty good. You mind me asking what you paid for this? I'm curious because Id still like to see if there's any hope in my obtaining one someday.
Best price Ive ever seen in my range was 10k and it needed a lot.
Wow, looks pretty straight and restorable. Good luck with it.
Looks like a nice find Klutch.Hope you enjoy working on it as much as I do working on mine.
