Guys,

I like to install a modern stereo system in my car , but don't want to remove the original Ford AM radio from the dash.
We all know that some of us are putting it in the glovebox , that's a possibility , but i like to build it under the dash !?

I was thinking about building a system with a switch to let it come down from under the dash when i press the switch , and when i press it again it would go up and under the dash so i can't see it anymore !?

Did any of you guys tried to build something like that ??
If yes , pictures please , if not , what did you build ??
Feel free to post pictures , i like to know how other Mach1club members solved this problem.

kind regards,

John
Remote control mounted in trunk.I havent installed yet but thats the way Im going to handle it.

Aftermarket radio is on my list of to-do's also. Since the glovebox is so large I planned on mounting in there, probable at the top of the glove box. Your idea sounds pretty neat, if you figure it out let us know how you did it.
Remote control in the trunk would not be an option because i can't see the display when the radio is in the trunk.

There is enough room in the glovebox SSig_agreed
but when building it in the glovebox , to see the display and want the remote to work the glovebox door has to be open while driving.

i figured out that there is enough room under the glovebox , i will build something neat and will show you when ready.

Thanks for the replys ,

John

The remote has the display on it check out the site I attached a link for.
Jim,

That secretaudio set is indeed a verry nice posibility to ad modern sound to a classic mustang.

I also like the undercover speaker system Big Grin

Only problem for me is that i already have a Alpine stereo system with cd-changer, USB , bluetooth phone , etc , etc.

I could sell the Alpine set , and buy me a secretaudio set Huh

But how does this secretaudio set sound , is it as good as Pioneer , Kenwood or Alpine ??
Im really the wrong one to ask about sound I like oldies and country.Must mean im too damn old.Havent gotten far enough with mine to even hook up the battery yet.Sound quality means alot but not cranked up so load I cant hear the ponies under the hood.
Amen! Hoof Beats (Ponies) should always be louder then Heartbeats and the stereo! Rockxtreme JTS 71 Mach1
Come on guys , you know what i mean .

It doesn't have to be a discotheque , but lot of aftermarket stereo systems just sound cheap.
It has to sound as warm as an old 45 Buddy Holly in my Ami-I.

And i agree , i love to hear the pony's under the hood from my 351CJ with dual flowmaster 40-series.

No stereo in the word can beat the sound of a galloping pony.
