Nothing is a more fundamental and obvious beer ingredient than water. At up to 97% of the total, water simply is the largest percentage of any beer. It accounts for much of the flavor and perceptions of any beer when it is finished. Entire styles are accountable to the profile of water, from the hardest with Burton-On-Trent for hoppy pale ales to the roundness and malty character of Bohemian Pilsner from the almost snow melt sources in Pilzen
Don't be fooled beer or alcohol in general is very dehydrating. Read the following then drink some water! Rofl2

Have you ever had a night out drinking only to find yourself very thirsty the morning after? This is what can happen when you drink an excessive amount of alcohol the night before. Dehydration is one of the many effects of alcohol on the body and can lead to thirst, headaches, nausea, muscle spasms or cramps and generally not feeling very good.

Alcohol has been proven to be a diuretic which means that when someone is drinking alcohol they tend to urinate a lot more than normal. As a result, the body is drained of water and the necessary vitamins and minerals it needs to function normally. A dehydrated body can also affect a person mentally, emotionally and spiritually, in fact a person who has been drinking heavily the night before can wake up moody due to "coming down" from their high of alcohol very much like coming down from a drug high.

The dehydration caused by drinking too much alcohol is due to a number of things including the toxicity of the acid that accumulates in the stomach and intestines which can lead to nausea. Alcohol can also inflame the tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach which can give you heartburn. And on top of that, the over production of insulin which causes low blood sugar levels which leads to excessive sweating, dizziness and the shakes. Some may even experience diarrhea in the short term.

Before you head out for a night drinking, remember to drink in moderation, drink plenty of water and eat food to line the stomach which will help slow down the absorption of alcohol into the system. It is important to keep your body fully hydrated while drinking alcohol so try drinking one glass of water for every equal glass of alcohol that you drink. This can have great benefits for your body while drinking and for the day after.
