that Mach 1's have sold for. I was just watching the Barrett Jackson Auction and they sold a 2003 Mach 1 with 517 miles for $25,300 (includes buyers premium). A lot of questions on the forums are about what are Mach 1's worth so I think it would be great to create a forum that we can list examples of Mach 1's with the actual selling prices. Post pictures and condition descriptions too. This is different than Mach's for sale, because we don't know if they sold or what the final sale price was.
(Edit: Also members may want to voluntarily post how much they paid for their Mach)
This could be a great reference for members who are trying to decide what the Mach they are looking at may be worth. Just a thought!

I hope I don't step on any toes with this, but I don't agree that Barrett Jackson is a good way to determine value of a Mach 1. My reasoning is that many people that buy cars there are usually wealthy car collectors, who will spend huge amounts of many for a car that will fill that void in their collection, and aren't as worried about the price as most of us are. Also, most cars I've seen sold there are completely restored or completed heavily customized street machines. I believe most folks on here are looking for what a nice driver or project car is worth.
For example, I paid $17,500 for my Q code 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1. It is in black primer, and does not have a correct engine block (has a 1966 Mercury 428 block in it). I didn't care because my dream car has always been a 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1, and I was happy to find one that actually ran and was somewhat drivable for that amount of money! The seller originally started asking $40,000 for it, and over the next 8 months the price kept dropping until it got to $20,000. I went there, heard it run and checked the numbers, offered him $17,500 and he accepted. He even put it on a trailer and brought it to my house. The seller was a roofer buy trade, and I think the housing market crash was really hurting him, so he needed to sell.
I think this kind of deal is a better determination of value. This car car probably would not have been allowed on the stage at Barrett Jackson. I think hearing what members bought or were able to sell their Mach 1 for, and what part of the country they are in is a better way to determine what is a good price for a Mach 1, or any collector car, but that's my opinion.
I agree with Jeff the real value of a vehicle is not what some fool will pay for it
(ie), Barrett Jackson. But what it costs to restore one, whatever level that is, and a reasonable profit. Not an over restored better then new, museum piece. That will never touch the tarmac, and sits in a climate controlled warehouse, for only the buyers enjoyment. Ford built these things to drive and be a part of our lives. They suceeded 100 fold, from what they originally envisioned. Put the cars back in the hands of the common man. The same guys that bought them when they were new. Not just the super wealthy that don't give a shit about the cars, and have used Barrett Jackson to nearly put them out of reach for the rest of us. Just my opinion JTS 71 Mach1
