about to replace my ram air hood has anyone put a fiberglass one
on , or does a new one fit o.k any problems

cheers doug
Cant help you with the fiberglass hood on the Mach 1, since mine is still the metal. I am not a big fan of fiberglass hoods, I had one on a 72 Pontiac Ventura (nova) and it did not like high speeds.

Hopefully someone else has more advice than I can give.

Nice to see you around Doug!

Sorry, but you talking about the plenum of the ram air system, or the hood himself? I got the plenum made in fiberglass in my car, i don't know if the hood is available in fiberglass too (except if someone customize it for you!)
Hey I've never seen a 71-73 mustang hood in fiberglass, standard or twin scoop. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but fiberglass even on the 79 up mustangs which is a much smaller hood has problems with cracking at the attaching points as well as the hood latch. and high speed is just plain scary at how much the hood flexes and bows. My sons 89 has a Mach1 style twin scoop hood and it's a Ceravini. so it isn't a cheapo. It did help some when we installed hood pins as well as using the standard hood latch. As far as the looks it's ok but for my opinion it isn't the best way to go.Naughty
