I am listing this Mustang for my boss. As far as we can tell it's a genuine Mach 1, but we're not experts on the classic Mustangs. We don't know any previous history on this car; he took it in on a trade. It was in pretty good condition, but could have used a restoration. He wanted it as his personal car so he had a body shop restore it. He has grown tired of it and is ready to part with it.

The car is 90% restored. It needs the A/C system finished- missing a few hoses and needs charged and some knick knacks for the interior are missing. It has no exhaust system on it other than the exhaust manifolds.

It is a 351 Cleveland automatic car with a brand new TCI C6. The engine is freshly rebuilt. It had headers on it when he got and he hunted down some NOS 351C 4V exhaust manifolds which were pricey and hard to find.

That's about all that I can think of off the top of my head. If you have any questions feel free to post them or PM me.

He is asking $17.5K OBO.

Take a look at the pics of this awesome classic!
I can't tell what type of exhaust system it has. Other things you may notice are the 71 gas cap, the lack of fender or trunk Mach1 decals, no hoses to the ram air vacuum motors. I'm guessing there are a lot more odds and ends missing here and there. $17K might be a stretch for an unfinished car. Tell your boss to finish the car for a few hundred dollars and a few hours time - it will make the car much easier to sell.
Looks nice, but I agree that if you finished up the small stuff it would be easier to sell. Probably would help if you posted up the location of the car since this is an International site. Good luck!

We aren't selling this as a complete or restored car, as title says it's 90% done. My boss is done with this car and doesn't want to work on it anymore. I don't have anything to do with the price; I just listed it for him and his price, plus it's a Or Best Offer price, not $17.5K firm.

Good point, The car is located in Florence, KY, which is Northern Kentucky.

If there is a 5 in the Vin, its a Mach 1 for 71-73.

Yeah it is a genuine Mach 1. The first 4 of the VIN are: 2F05

FYI your friend is a little high on the price of this Mach with the little ticky tacky issues it has. He would be getting close to the ceiling even if this was near perfect. Prices on everything are a little down right now.

Bitdriver (a member here) was selling a beautiful Mach 1 and had hell getting good money for his and his was really nice. VIEW HERE
BITDRIVER DID FINALLY SELL THIS MACH 1. IT IS NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE!!

I saw a concours 71 Mach 1 351 Cleveland go for 26k on Mecum auction, but the Mustang was perfect.

Frankly IMO think 1971-1973 Mach 1's in perfect condition are valued at about 15k-18k and that will all depend on the buyer and how much he has a boner for that particular car, remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

We aren't trying to give you a rough time in anyway, just trying to be helpful since most of us all know about Mach 1's here.

Bitdriver's car is very nice. Do you know how much he got out of it?

I'll let him know, but I don't have the authority to lower the price. I know he will take less since it's OBO, but I don't know how much less.

Thanks for the input and help.
I do not know what BitDriver got for his, maybe when he sees this post he will chime in. I wanted to know that as well. Laughing
