I just bought a 72 mach1 and want to put 18x8s int the front and 18 x 9.5 inch wheels in the rear. Does anyone know what offset will work in the rear. Ive kinda browsed the forum but havent found anything. Any help is appreciated.
Sorry GREEN72MACH1 cant help on this one. All I could suggest is calling your local tire store, they should have the answer for sure. Sorrydontknow
Not sure where I read it but I have recently come across someone who runs 295's on 15 or 16's with a rear offset on a 10" rim of either 6.25 or 6.5. His tires/rim combo fit under the car.

Steve, I know the one you speak of as they have a yellow as well. I think they are actually either 295 or 315's. Very wide. I think I'm going with 275 on mine on a 9" rim.

Here is a pic of the one I think Steve is thinking of. As you can see it made enough impression on me to save the pics of the rear end... Bow
Nice Mach 1!! Looks really good!! Jam
Thanks Yellow Mach,

I do not believe that is the car I read an article on but then I was not as savy as you were to save a picture. That is the stance though. I love that look. Let me know how your car handles with your tire choice. My fear is that too much tread on the rear will cause the car to push in the corners. By the way, what color code is your yellow Mach 1?
Can't help you with the info about the offset but mine has 295's on the rear

Now if I can only find some 10" wide Shelby ten spoke to match the ones I have!
