First, if you live outside of Alaska, chances are good you don’t own a .458 caliber rifle, which is overkill for hunting anything except Kodiak brown bears in North America. You probably don’t have easy access to the Mojave Desert, either, so shooting up a brand new battery is going to be inconvenient. At the very least, it’s going to take some planning. Anyway, it’s good to know that your truck will still start, at least in the desert, if you’re being stalked by an Alaskan hunting guide. I’m not reassured enough to run out and buy a DieHard Platinum replacement battery for my own truck, but I’ll keep it in mind when the stock one bites the dust.
In this experiment a DieHard Platinum battery is tested against a .458 caliber guide rifle, its bullet speeding at 2000 feet per second, and the Mojave desert heat. Cue the lonely whistle.

I think I will Throw out the BS flag on this one.
They probably shot the battery to see if there were any illegal aliens hiding in it trying to sneak in.
Oh yeah that really encouraged me to go out and buy a "Diehard Battery". Not to many chances of gettin shot at, even in Arkansas. Bull Puckey. JTS 71 Mach1
I recall some old Die Hard commercials that were similar many years ago. Now I wonder if the battery will still start the pickup the next day!
SO IF I GET IN A WRECK AND IT DOES THAT TO MY BATTERY, I CAN AT LEAST LISTEN TO THE RADIO AS I AM BLEEDING TO DEATH

In the 60's Excide froze a battery in a large block of ice for 24hrs and then started a car with it.
Wow. A large, brand new, fully charged battery will hold it's charge for 24hrs at 0c and start a small car. Dodgy
I trust my four smart/floating chargers instead. Wave
