If you're removing tie rods or tie-rod to idler arm, after you remove the castle nuts and cotter pins from the threaded bolt ends, the parts will still be "stuck" To break loose, one easy method is to hold a metal block or bodyman's dolly against one side of the connection, then strike the other side with a hammer. This concentrates the froce of the hit at the connection only and the parts (e.g. tie-rod to center-link or tie-rod to idler arm) should break loose. This method works well for many other connections that are stuck. Hope it works for you...Father taught it to me!
Great tip! My dad taught me a lot about working on cars too. Sometimes heating up with a propane torch helps loosen up stuck bolts, ball joints, etc. Be careful around gas lines though!
