It appears you have a 70 or 71 M-code. Still a desirable engine.

thanks gxr02190....
You have been a great help!Bravo

I like the engine... looks like it went into the torino? is that right? i guess i need to do some more research to find out how many thousands were made....

I buy lottery tickets too and have not won anything yet...Dodgy

But i did pick up this bad boy from prestige motorsports (in north carolina)...will drop it into my 69 mach 1... 351W DART block.. 427 stroker... Dyno 575HP...535TQ.. and add a T56 6 speed with strange ford 9inch rear end..

Now that makes me happy..Drink_to_that

There you go! Now that's a nice motor. Then you'll need something like Cal-Trac's to get some traction.

Best Regards,

Hey Bob,

It may have been a small disappoint to learn your motor was not a Boss block but I am confident your post provided a lot of members with some great insight and new knowledge.
You should be credited with having the post of the month as I and others thoroughly enjoyed following it...thank you!! SSig_goodjob

Hello again Bob. As far as how many were built, that number is up there. Approx. 15,000 1971 mustangs were equipped with the 351-4V. Add to that he number of '71 Cougars, Montegos, Cyclones, and Torinos, of which, I have no figures. Then, add to that the number of '70 Mustangs, Torinos, Montegos, and Cyclones - whatever that number is...... Whatever the total is, it's a lot. And these things are still considered scarce today, compared to the H-code 2-barrel version.
