Ya what he said! When I was chasing one for my 72 Mach 1, it actually came out of a Cougar, but was the same, anyway when I purchased it I paid nearly 600 bucks for mine. There's probably some money to be made if you could keep finding the consoles.
Ive still got an extra console that has a crack down the back side. It could easily be repaired but I'm holding onto it, until I know what happens down the road. If I would have been thinking clearly I would have pulled mine out of the 72 when I got rid of it, it was perfect. Cry
Great job man, thanks for the pictures! It will be a help to someone down the line that's for sure! SSig_goodjob

The trim paint is SEM trim black. Probably my favorite product made by SEM. Lol Trim black does wonders. They also make other Trim paint colors.

Great work! Amazing what a little cleaning and "trim black" can do...looks like new. I guess your old dash pad was ready to come out..that one crack looked like the Grand Canyon. Looks really good so far. Maybe this little trick will help you...the sail panels on all the 70's simply suck. I put brand new in mine and within a couple of months they were sagging. I ended up covering the backside of them with Dynomat sound insulation and then epoxied 2 pieces of flat, thin aluminum on them to give them a "backbone"...worked great..they are as straight as can be and no sagging.

I just redid the lower metal dash section on my car and National Parts Depot has a special charcoal black that is specific for the Mach 1.

They have the softer formulated cans as welll as the formulated stuff for hard surfaces as well.
