Isn't F code a 260 ci motor? Even weirder. Dave R.
I find conflicting info on what exactly is a F code but the base engine in '69 Mach 1 was the 2bbl. 351. Right? There was nothing smaller available in a Mach 1. Unless some production line foul-up happened?
Hi Dave, thanks for your response, im pretty certain an F code on a 69 Mustang is a 302 but obviously not available in a Mach 1 as you said 351 2bbl was the smallest.
I didnt want to say anything to the person at the time of reading it because it just seemed so odd to me on a 63c car (according to the door tag) and i also didnt want to make him feel that his car may actually not be a Mach 1 but a standard sportsroof with a deluxe interior, does anyone know if 63c actually means Mach 1 or can it mean deluxe interior also.
I think that you are correct on the F being a 302. One chart that I looked at said 260 but 302 seems to be the correct F code. The 63c on the data plate designates a Mach 1 and only a Mach 1. Of course the Mach 1 came only in the sportsroof and with a deluxe interior. Dave R.
