Finally my Mach 1 arrived, it is how I expected it bearing in mind I bought it sight unseen ( yes I know that's a big no no, but these are strange times")
Floor, frame rails etc pretty much rust free ( san Jose built and California until 2020) bodywork good and the interior is excellent, bills from 2004 to 2011 show door cards, seat covers, instruments refurb, MSD box, distributer and coil with dyno work to set it up with the 4 Barrel Holley fitted ( it's an H code car) on an ally manifold.
I think I need to look at the power steering hoses, need to get them from USA, UK ones are too dear so might need help getting the right ones as it seems Cleveland 2 barrel engined cars are specific?
How can I tell which P/S  pump is fitted or is there only 1?
I bought a hood tacho from "the parts place" as it's a copy of the DIXCO ones Ford dealers fitted in 69 and 70.
Thought I would have problems with the signal but didn't want to spend £95 ( the cost here for an MSD 8920 is it?) anyway I wired it up to the tach signal on my MSD 6AL and bingo it works.
I don't know how to share a video or  would.
It's got long tube headers which are a bit dented and could do with being painted / coated, how much of  nightmare is it to try and remove them?
Thats all for now I'll catch up tomorrow  Thumbup

Looks pretty good, doesn't appear to be bad at all. Good job on getting the Tach to work, as I've read a lot of complaints on getting one to function correctly. As far as the headers go. They are a tight fit, and with power steering, unless absolutely necessary I'd leave them alone, as most used headers unless they are high quality (Hookers etc.) they don't usually fit, and seal very good the second time around. Hope it helps, Just my thoughts.  Cool

Having looked at how tight it is to get at the headers I will take your advice  Thumbup
I drilled the bonnet today for the tacho ( very difficult and expensive to get another bonnet here so no real choice) the only problem is you have to make your own fixing method up, but it's looking good, hope to wire it and finish it tomorrow or the next day, I need to find an "easy to get to" switched live for the light in it.

As I remember the wire harness for the headlights runs down the DS (left) inner fender. shouldn't be hard to find the marker light wire in the harness, then anytime you turn on the headlights, Viola light in the Tach! Hope it helps.

Thanks for that, I found a female bullet connector which is a switched live, i think it used to be the coil + before the MSD was fitted so i've  used that.
I've taken out the inner wing splash shield and apart from the underseal cracking and falling off it shows bright metal, amazing to us as any UK car that age would be a pile of rust by now due to the salt in winter etc.
I'm thinking of a complete front suspension kit from Ohio mustang ( good price) riveted joints top and bottom, no grease nipples etc but I wont be doing lots of miles, do you know if their stuff is any good?
Finally got to drive it today (insurance, road tax etc arranged) and was pleasantly surprised how quiet ( squeaks and roans and exhaust) it was, everything worked (even the clock!) and It takes off well for ( to us) such a big car.
I've got power steering and brake hoses on order so I'm cleaning and painting the underside while I'm waiting for them.
It's got new brake pads and discs ( vented, is that standard?) new fuel pump, front shocks and the rear ones seem quite recent with an air line joining them?
I do need to do most of the bushings though, they look well past it.

cheers Jeff
