I saw and copied the helpful page. However the picture fails to show how the flat down position of the seat is supported up front on the sides. The side quarter panels are not clearly defined as to their purpose in the picture. My two plastic side panels are to far apart. The flat side of the seat only lands half on the drivers side and falls past and inside the passenger side. I will be removing the panels to see if shimming is possible however I still do not know if those plastic shelves are the real resting support point of it there more to the story.
Also I am trying to find out what the four holes (2 per panel) are with are just above the carpet yet under the rear fixed side window. They are set up with a metal brace behind them to screw something into. They are several inches below the side edge of the fold down seat when flat. It is a factory design.
I need to know what the front flat panel is supposed to rest on when down with pictures of a flat seat showing the sides being supported. Also when flat the 90 degree end piece flips forward and currently rests on the trans tunnel. Is that correct or does it have a different support system as is is heavy.
If someone has a correctly function 71-73 fastback rear seat fold down can you post pictures of it while up and down flat. Showing contac points, bearing points and alignment with fixed panels.
Thanks again, John
