Not Bad at all, If it's as solid underneath, it will turn out to be a great car. Without tons of money. Glad you finally got one. Since it's not a rare one of one. I guess the sky's the limit on what you can do with it. Search around car clubs etc. There are a ton of motors out there that somebody has built, and their project went south, and they will usually sell them for about 1/2 of what they got in them. Good Luck Man.

PS I love the nice interior! All Black!

It doesn't have rust, just places like the bottom of the doors the drain hole gets plugged and it causes surface rust. everything else is rock solid.
Thanks for that tip, I'm definitely hunting, id love to find a 347 stroker cheap. Least I can find is 3500 for a 320hp motor.
This is the stuff that gets scary, once I pull the motor there's no turning back.

You would be lucky to find a rusted out one in Connecticut for $7,500. It looks like it has a tilt wheel too. It should be a fun easy project. Although white cars hide imperfections well, I was looking at the LH quarter panel was curious it can be pushed back to its original shape, or close to? The RH side has some stuff going on around the bottom of the door and quarter panel but if there is no rust should clean up nicely. The car is worth all of the $7,500 you paid. Great find!

That's a good solid clean car for a Boss 302 clone. It has the correct interior for a clone. Only missing the factory tach instrument cluster. I'd seriously consider a 4sp conversion for it to be a more legitimate clone effort. A 9" rear axle would also be correct for a clone. When you eventually get to the motor, you can install 2-barrel Cleveland heads on a 302 which would make it look more like a Boss 302 motor from the top. There are some aftermarket intakes around for that conversion.

Looking at the car it didn't occur to me that the interior is substantially the same as a Boss....great point! A 4 speed conversion always wins my vote. The car definitely has some great potential without a whole lot of work!

Wow - great find and purchase. Congratulations, you have been looking for this 1970 for ages.
I like the Boss clone idea. The 351C heads would make an interesting motor.
It will be fun to have you back more frequently as well as to be able to follow this build.
All the best.

Yeah, Boss 302's were fairly stripped down in standard form. Made to road race and no creature comforts beyond a heater and AM radio.

thanks for all the responses ill give an update soon. working on replacing power steering it leaks everywhere and once that's done we will degrease the bottom of the car and see where it's actually leaking from other spots. the engine runs smoothly it just pees out everything you put in it. makes a mess but we can't tell if its power steering spraying everywhere.
Its a solid car, no rust, there is damage to the driver rear wheel and it looks like someone went bondo crazy at some point and then had a blowout.
We are gonna cut it out and replace. I have 3 cars I'm working right now.
1990 Fox Vert - soon for sale see picture if interested its a nice car. brand new top, new tires and wheels
