1973 Mach I shipped to me- pic heavy
#11
Yeah, I decided what ever I do, I'll keep the motor that's there and build on it.

UPDATE:

Was going to pay with debit card but they charge 3.5% over $4000
So I have an appt at the bank to transfer the money tomorrow at noon.

It should be on it's way to me early next week.

It's traveling 2318.8 miles.

Ok, for informational purposes, once I get the Stang here, I'll reveal the costs involved for the shipping. (I don't want to anger the Mustang gods just yet)

That should help others make decisions when it comes to shipping cars cross country.

Also, yesterday I was fooling around on the Nevada DMV registration website looking at personalized plates.

I'll be a SOB if this wasn't taken.

This was not taken!
Well, it is now! This will be her new plate.

After hearing horror stories about shipping and having trouble finding a reputable shipper, I decided to take a 4300 mile road trip and pick it up myself.
I'm leaving this Saturday.

I'll detail anything interesting I find along the way here.

So, I'm leaving Las Vegas and driving to Georgia to pick up an enclosed trailer then on to Tampa Fl, then back.
Here goes nuthin...

I have done a few spontaneous trips myself for cars.  Do you have a friend or family member joining you?

Yeah, good luck on the road trip and be safe. I just came back from Louisiana Saturday, with another Jaguar XJS to use as a parts car for my Jacobra. My wife went with me. It's amazing we can still find things to talk about after 35+ years.

ROAD TRIP !!! Yes!

It's just me.
I have to work this week, so I'm leaving Saturday.

I'll be sure to keep in e-touch and I'll try to be quick with the camera.
You guys know the crazy stuff that goes on out on the road!

I'll make progress reports

I had the impression some of those car transport companies using big semi trucks with enclosed trailers were supposed to be very reliable?  I think one is named Reliable.  Or are their pricing simply outrageous?

It's pricey but worse than that, the good ones are backed up right now. I was looking at May-June.

The truck does well (F350) and it was recently upgraded by Bulletproof Diesel authorized shop.

Go ahead & snicker, but it's ready for a solo road trip...   Laughing

This is the trailer I'm picking up in Georgia.

Looks like a excellent setup, F350 and a nice trailer sure can't go wrong with that, and as long as it's just you. The porta potty will work great. As an old truck driver, I can tell you one thing that was told to me. You can't make good time, unless you keep the left door shut! Have a great time, and be safe.
