2008 Shelby GT limited and Shelby numbered :) Love it. It's very well balanced.

Looks like my 08's big brother! Just a couple extra lungs for a little more deep breathing that's all ! It's very nice. Was it pampered or driven like someone stole it??? ("I believe" but 'am not quite sure) this is one that was purchased as a GT, then taken to Shelby's shop in Vegas and converted to a Shelby GT. They can be modded from mild to wild depending on your pocket book. If I'm correct? I read something on them once but the memory is kinda fuzzy. God this getting old SUCKS. JTS

I'm usually not a blue color fan, but I like that one.

I have never had a desire to follow Shelby Mustangs so I've got to ask, is there much difference between a late model Shelby and a Mustang GT? Is it simply bolt on performance parts like back in the 1960's?

Kinda sorta, they still do intakes, headers, exhaust, "bolt on's". The biggest gains have come from the electronic tuning capabilities. Smaller engines making tons more horsepower. Superchargers that live without destroying themselves, or the engine. The present day Shelby's comes with more of an entire package, then the standard GT. Such as, not just bigger brakes, but bigger brakes matched specifically to the weight, balance, and performance criteria set for the Shelby. Shelby would probably have done more of that kind of thing, if he had the technology we have now, with the computer aided design capabilities etc. That are light years ahead of the 60's. Bolt on's always enhanced one specific area of performance. Todays technology allows them to create a more powerful, and balanced all around package.

My neighbor has a 1965 Fastback A-code 4 speed Mustang. It's in need of a full restoration but his father was the original owner which is a plus. One person keeps offering to buy it. But only to make a Shelby clone and flip it. He claims there is a big market for clones. I guess there are still a lot of people that desire the 1960's Shelby's but cannot afford one. Every time my neighbor brings it up I try to discourage him from selling it to somebody who wants to do that. In my mind it's more valuable closer to original, some bolt on performance stuff is fine.

On a side note, for me, I prefer a 1969 or 1970 Boss 302 over any Shelby. But that merely my preference which seems to be different than most others.

In the case of your neighbor's car I agree. A 4 speed A code car is a nice car to keep original. In my case, my fastback was a 6 cylinder car so I needed to do the conversion and upgrades for my own sake.

I think most people are unable to afford a 65/66 Shelby so a clone is as close to a real Shelby a Mustang enthusiast will ever get. Plus, personally, if I owned a real Shelby I wouldn't drive it. The risk is too great of getting in an accident. You don't want to crash a Shelby!

Tell your neighbor not to sell his car to someone whose only interest is to flip it. That would irk the crap out of me!

I also like the Boss 302's. They were at the later end of the Shelby's, and where as the Shelby's were ballooning into larger, heavier, plush, models. The Boss 302 was nothing but pure race car, that was street legal. More like what the Shelby's were back at the beginning in 1965. While I'm a big fan of the 65 fastback,(Mustang Mike's 65 Is Gorgeous) I actually like the 69 Mach1, and Boss 302's a little better. They lent themselves to the race car look much better, and as you said That's just my opinion.

PS I wouldn't kick either one of them, out of bed!

you understand correctly on this car. its unique, it won't have value in my lifetime but it will be cared for while I have it. my favorite thing is the next cool car, but people are hot for this color scheme and any Shelby gt convertible, they made about 600. The Hertz GT-H is also an up and coming.

It has 89k on it so it was driven but by a guy in his 60s when he bought it. He took care of it, it's only been dealer serviced.
