Collectable?... Classic.?.. Toy?.. All 3?
#1
I was recently talking to my Insurance agent. I am currently carrying, full coverage with a vehicle value of $15,000, on my 72 Q-code. I think that's a about right but he didn't have a good valuation tool, one that accounts for the go fast factory goodies on my car. Does anyone know of a good value guide?

As always I look forward to any and all input.
Thanks,
your friend

Sorry, I do not know of a good valuation tool. My concern would be that the insurance agent have a good valuation tool in the event that something was to happen. How will they evaluate the loss?

Hey Keith, Hagerty has a good value tool I have used. https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationto.../auto/Ford.
With most classic car insurances you can set the agreed value. There are also many options on usage, ie do you use the car for tooling around town ,car shows, cruise nights or will you go around the country to mustang events and ford shows. They also offer the same coverages as your regular insurances but at a lot less.
I use americancollectors.com they are very reasonable and everything can be done on line.
As for the agreed value. If you had a total loss today could you go and buy your car tomorrow for that price ? I think your a little lite. For a little more money you could be in that 20,000. range.
Hope this helps. Good luck J.

Steven,
Last year after I took an unplanned trip through a ditch. The Ins. adjuster was both professional and knowledgable. His itemized estimate was backed up by real world part prices, mostly from CJ Pony parts. I feel the settlement was fair and reasonable.

Thanks J-Cobb, that's good info.
P.S. I ultimately decided to go with $20,000 total value! Just like you suggested!
