Humber Super Snipe - Mid to late 60's
Sunbeam Talbot 90 - 50's IFAIK
Alvis TE21 - He got the vanity plate before car models were not permitted (or maybe they did not realise it was the model - sometimes they are not that bright!)
Yes, Stephen, the 105E was more 'modded' rather than 'roded' quite a bit (well prior to Hogwarts!).
Smart update was to replace the original 1200cc with the 1600cc cross flow headed Ford motor and add twin Webers Plus tuned length extractors (headers). Then Ford brought out the V4 2ltr with the close ratio gearbox. They all fit that engine bay.
RS Escort running gear was also retro-fitted for REAL street sleepers. I believe the V6 2.5 or 3.0 motor has also been shoehorned in but that brings in handling problems - too much front weight. Using the lower ratio diff from the small motor gave great 'GO' off the line at the expense of top speed. Round the town, who cared!
Anything over 2ltr was considered 'big' back in the day. I started with a 2.6ltr I6 Vauxhall compete with abject poverty. I have never looked back.
I know there are one or two examples of the model in Perth. Next time one shows up at a meeting I will photo and post.

I would appreciate that. Thanks.
The talk of a 1200cc being replaced with all of 1600cc or maybe going as big as 2ltr really sounds "odd" to this part of the world but that was indeed the way it was back in the day.
I started with a 351C and abject poverty and have not found any reason to look back either.
Thinking of you. I was at a cruise night fri. stumbled across this. Sorry my picture taking skills are not the best. Unfortunately it had a big block Chevy in it.
Could not get away with the 'Antique Plate' here. To get concessional rates for 25+ year old cars they must be stock.
Concessional = $70 not $500 per year. One person can have as may older cars as they want. The Daimler club President has 9 cars like that.
I am heading to have 3. 2 of my BMW s and the Daimler.
I was granted the vanity plate TRAIMLER today. It is collected and fitted. That was a quick $655!!
Your going to hate me when I tell you. In my state to retitle the car antique is about 125.00. Then another 100. to get the custom letters and numbers. Here's the kicker It's Permanent. At that point you can also skip the yearly safety inspection. Only a few rules. You only have to keep up the insurance on the vehicle. That is minimal also. There is driving restrictions , can't use the car for every day use. But I don't think anyone enforces that anyway. Try not to hate me too much.
Cheers John.
