Hi All,
After quite some time looking, I purchased a restored 69 Mach 1 in 2011. I have been a car nut all my life, and the Mustang thing goes back to my childhood, I can remember seeing a shiny Mustang one day. Who'd have thought many years later I would own one of these. The last three years with the car have been fantastic, my wife and I have been on many social events, car shows, and just made a lot of friends.

Got to also say how much this car has impacted my teenage son as well, he has learnt a great deal from just being around the car, helping doing small mods, repairs and maintenance.

Here's to having much much more of this fun.

Welcome from Perth WA. Isn't it great when your kids get involved? My daughter's auto involvement has helped us bond no end. There are posts of mine with her car and picture. Shame you are on the other side of the island.

Welcome Dave - great to have you here with us.

What part of NSW? I had the opportunity to visit Australia a few years back. I ran on to a couple of 71-73's but no 69.

Jump on in and enjoy the site.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the welcome.
We are about 2 hours drive north of Sydney, near the Port Stephens area. Lots of good roads and pleasant scenery to drive on.
Where did you go in OZ?

Welcome Dave! I'm new here as well. So far everybody has been great. It's great your son is involved. I've found many people younger than these cars don't recognize what they were and have much appreciation for them. Have fun. Don't let your son wreck the car.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks Dave.

I recall seeing a video of a drive in a Mach 1 on some north of Sydney roads sometime in the past. It was indeed beautiful.

I flew into Sydney and then drove to Canberra. From Canberra to West Wyalong and back to Sydney. We then flew to Tasmania and drove from Hobart to Launceston on over to Devonport and back to Hobart.

I look forward to enjoying the site with you.

Welcome OZ, I hope all is well down under. I would love to see some pic's of your car! My kids are all grown up now, but when my son was about 12 and my daughter was 10, she would come out to the garage and help. I taught her how to use a heat gun (for removing undercoating) & my Oxy/Acetylene torch (with close supervision)! Ironically my son had no interest in working on cars & never has. His thing is Guitar.
I hope you and your family have a ton of fun with your Mach 1!
Best Wishes,
Keith S.
P.S. On a side note, My daily driver is a 69 Cougar, I promised my daughter that I would leave it to her in my will. LOL
