As long as you have a constant (as opposed to ported) vacuum source such as the carb base or base/spacer plate, it should be OK. Make sure the breather cap on the driver's side valve cover is not clogged with grime. The PCV system is only a guess on my part as to why you seem to be burning oil from one bank of cylinders and not both. You very well may have a mechanical issue as earlier discussed.

I finished deep creeping the spark plug holes. Took it for a ride to burn off deep creep and afterwards smoke was a lot less but I was driving in the rain. I won't be sure until I take the car out on a dry day.
Valves 5 & 6 had oil on the plugs which I would imagine are the valves burning oil. The rest of the valves had clean plugs.

Mixed results so far. The car smokes less than before. I only see smoke now when I floort it but prior I would see smoke when i gave it half gas. Its definitely cylinder 5&6. I did it again today but still seeing smoke when I floor it. I guess rebuild is my only option.

The results of deep creep so far have been pretty good. Now i sometimes see some smoke when I floor it. And the smoke is very light. I do however see smoke out of my oil cap when i open the hood while running.

It sounds like you've gotten about the best results you're going to get. Now it's a personal decision, wether you can live with it or not.
The oil smoke comming out of the oil cap definitely indicates there is wear in the cylinders/ rings as what you are seeing is called blow by, it's the combustion gases getting past the rings and into the crankcase causing a positive pressure and the smoke you are talking about. Good luck JTS71 Mach1

its coming from valves 5 and 6 so i am going to try and replace the rings without pulling engine. i originally was going to pay for entire rebuild but that kind of takes the fun out of it.

If you are planning on re-ringing the motor. Save yourself headaches and pull the motor out of the car. It only takes 1-1/2 to 2 hours to get it out and on a stand. Plus it will be difficult to thoroughly wash the motor after honing and removing the top ridge on the cylinders with it in the car.
Good luck. I've never been able to get away with a simple re-ring. If stuff is not worn too far you can get away with it. Every motor I've rebuilt has had too much wear for a re-ring. I certainly understand if that is what your budget will currently afford. Whatever you do, you'll still benefit from removing the motor from the car.
Best Regards,
Mike
