Hello, just purchased my first mach 1 while searching for a belated birthday present. My intentions were to buy an old d100 dodge so I set off to Southern San Antonio. On my arrival I noticed several other parked cars sitting under a forest of oak trees. After deciding to not buy the truck the ol'timer mechanic started showing me some other vehicles he might be willing to get rid of due to retirement money and time. One vehicle in particular had caught my eye when I had arrived. After a closer look I realized it was an older mustang. with a little wheeling and dealing I am now the owner of an original 1973 mach 1. Looking forward to bringing this beast back from the grave
Welcome to the site. Was the belated B-day gift for you? If so, I like it! Once again, I am amazed by the condition of these old cars down there in the southwest. You just don't see them that nice up here in CT.
Keep us posted...the car looks like a great starting point for a restoration.

Thanks mike, I'm originally from Ct. Moved to Austin texas about a year ago to build custom homes. Your right, old cars from the 70's here in texas are in better conditions than early 2000's. I had saved some money up for an old truck I could work on but it led me to the mustang. Picked it up for $3500. I would like to rebuild the original engine "there was a knocking when it last ran" and slowly bring it back to a factory look. I am going to have it dropped off on Friday so I will post some more pictures not just of the car but my tool shed\car port I am building.

You did well.
Welcome, we will enjoy the journey with you.
Thanks!
Good deal on the car...and moving to Texas, too! The CT economy is mediocre at best and the taxes are consuming everyone's disposable income. I guess that's why they refer to CT as the "tax you to death State". I bet you are far more busy in Texas building customs homes than you would be if you were here.
Please keep us updated on the progress of your car and let us know if you have any questions.
